FAQs

The science behind Dopalearn®

Dopalearn® is an innovative learning method that leverages the power of dopamine, the neurotransmitter behind motivation, to expedite the learning process. By using Dopalearn®, learners can experience a range of benefits that can make their learning journey more efficient and effective.

One of the primary benefits of using Dopalearn® is that it can help learners to stay motivated and engaged with the learning material. Dopamine is a key player in the brain's reward system, which means that when learners use Dopalearn®, their brain releases dopamine in response to learning, making them feel good and more motivated to continue learning.

Another benefit of using Dopalearn® is that it can help learners to retain information better. When learners are motivated and engaged with the material, they are more likely to remember what they have learned. Additionally, the dopamine release triggered by Dopalearn® reinforces neural pathways, which helps learners to solidify their knowledge and skills.

Finally, using Dopalearn® can help learners to develop a love of learning that can last a lifetime. By associating the learning process with positive feelings of motivation and engagement, learners are more likely to view learning as an enjoyable and rewarding activity, rather than a chore or a source of stress.

The Lessons Library

Our curriculum is mostly focused on the “three Rs” — reading, writing, and arithmetic — with a strong emphasis on spelling and math. Each nano-lesson is a short, engaging audiovisual segment lasting 3 to 15 seconds. These nano-lessons are grouped into larger lesson packs, with some containing close to 60 units.

How many lessons are available in Dopalearn®?

We currently offer over 100 courses, featuring more than 1,000 nano-lessons in English. New languages are actively being developed and regularly added to our library, including Arabic, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Dutch, German, French, Hindi, Spanish, Turkish, and Russian.

Lesson Only Mode vs Practice Mode

Dopalearn® offers two distinct training modes within the Launch Pad. The first, Lesson Only Mode, is a standard, non-interactive format designed to provide a passive learning experience. The second, Practice Mode — available exclusively in Dopalearn® Pro — is interactive and actively engages the learner through exercises.

The "Launch Pad" explained

The Dopalearn® Launch Pad is the heart of the platform and serves as the command center for the Popup Training System™. Intuitively designed for parents and teachers, it enables easy customization of the learning experience. Below is an overview of the parameters:

Pop-up Frequency: Sets the interval between pop-ups, ranging from 30 seconds to 5 minutes.
Lesson Count: Determines the number of nanolessons presented before progression.
Challenge Count: Exclusive to Practice Mode, this controls the number of times the learner is challenged before progression.

What is Nano-learning?

At Little Brain Boosters®, we pioneered the concept of nanolearning — a breakthrough approach to education that delivers small, focused bursts of information designed for rapid understanding and retention. By presenting content in bite-sized, highly digestible segments, our platform helps learners quickly grasp and retain essential knowledge and skills with minimal cognitive load.

What is edutainment?

The words "education" and "entertainment" are combined to form the term "edutainment." It describes a category of content that successfully mixes learning and enjoyment in a fun and interactive way. Edutainment aims to make studying enjoyable and fun so that viewers are more likely to remember the material. Educational games, interactive movies, and other digital and non-digital formats are just a few examples of edutainment, which aims to both educate and entertain at the same time.

Is Dopalearn® for my child?

Our lessons are compatible with all ages (although our current video collection is best suited for the younger ages). We are actively expanding our collection to cover all age groups.  A free version has been made available to help you answer this question.

How soon can my child start learning?

Children can start learning from the moment they are born. From the very beginning, they are constantly learning and developing new skills and abilities. In the first year of life, children learn to communicate and express their needs, to recognize and respond to the emotions of others, and to develop physical skills such as grasping objects and sitting up. As they grow, children continue to learn and develop new skills and abilities at a rapid pace. By the time they reach school age, children have already learned a tremendous amount and are ready to start learning more formal academic skills. So, in a sense, children are always learning, and the learning process begins from the moment they are born.

What does "Dopalearn" stand for?

Dopalearn® is a combination of “dopamine", the neurotransmitter behind motivation, and the word “learn”.

What is dopamine?

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that is involved in a number of important functions in the brain, such as movement, motivation, and reward. It is often referred to as the "feel-good" neurotransmitter, as it is released in response to pleasurable experiences, such as eating good food, playing, or achieving a goal. Dopamine is also involved in learning and memory, as well as in regulating mood and behavior.

What role does dopamine play in learning?

Since dopamine is involved in the reinforcement of pleasurable or rewarding behaviors, this can help to motivate the learner to learn and remember new things. For example, when a child completes a difficult puzzle and experiences the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction, dopamine is released in the brain, which can help to reinforce the behaviors and strategies that the child used to solve the puzzle. This can motivate the child to continue learning and trying new things, which can help to support their overall development and learning. In general, the release of dopamine in response to pleasurable or rewarding experiences can help to support a child's motivation and engagement in learning.
